Not quite as strange a post as you may think. They say that you learn by the books you read and the people you meet.So I want to publicly apologise to Mike McConvey , I met Mike whilst employed at a large Swedish manufactureing company.
At a company sales meeting Mike proclaimed that you should not cold call, I knew better (I thought!!!!!) and vigorously argued against him , full of bravado , stating this was true selling.
How wrong I was, the only true thing about "Cold Calling" is that it is a complete and utter waste of time.
Guerilla's fight and win, by adopting new methods, new ways NOT by persistently using archaic and outdated weapons and strategies.
Frank Rumbauskas explains so well in his book "Cold Calling is a Waste of Time".
Before you go running off, thinking what to do with all that time that you won't be using to Cold Call, think again.
Please read the book , what Frank describes encapsulates everything that is fundamental to selling success
Cold calling is unplanned, unfocussed, waste of energy - there I said it, neither energy or time can you afford to waste.
